My long journey to VeeamOn 2015 started at 03:30am , with a an hours drive to Edinburgh Airport. An hour or so later I was in Gatwick , ready fro my final long haul flight to Las Vegas.
Upon landing at Vegas I was greeted by Mario, from Presidential Limousines. Great start to the conference. A quick tour down the strip, with Mario more than happy to suggest places to eat/drink and be entertained.
Check in at the Aria Casion and Resort was an experience. The check desk hall is enormous. I was allocated a room on the 10th floor, and have to say the views are petty good. The room itself is very roomy and all mod cons.
After a quick shower/shave, it was time to head down to registration and then onwards to the poolside reception. Picked up my Vanguard badge ( no space for twitter handle 🙁 ), and my VeeamOn bag.
The bag contained a plethora of paper flyers ( enough to cover my large bed) and one or 2 non paper based goodies.
So far my expections of Vegas and VeeamOn were being surpassed, but the poolside reception was a great ice breaker.
I met a few of the other Vanguards (Jorge and Dmitry) as well as the infamous Rick Vanover and Cliff Wyckoff.
2 beers down and the long day of travel was starting to take its toll, so I head back to my room to put this quick blog post together, and head to bed. That was my intention any way. A couple of the other Vanguards arrived on later flights, so we all met up for a blether and a drink.
Really excited for when VeeamOn 2015 kicks off in earnest tomorrow, especially the Vanguard only session.
Will try to update each day.
